Woman receiving Rharian Fields outpatient eating disorder support

We want people to be able to stay in their homes whilst receiving eating disorder support wherever possible — and our outpatient service at Rharian Fields help us do that.

Our friendly and experienced team offers community treatment for people aged 17.5 and over in North East Lincolnshire who are living with:

  • Anorexia Nervosa (AN)
  • Bulimia Nervosa (BN)
  • Binge Eating Disorder (BED)
  • Other Specified feeding or Eating Disorders (OSFED)

We understand that reaching out can be difficult, but we're here to support you in a way that feels safe, welcoming and tailored to your needs.

How can you support me?

We offer a range of different treatment options based on your needs. Our main approach is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Eating Disorders (CBT-ED). This is a structured, evidence-based therapy which helps you build a healthy relationship with food, your body and yourself.

If your eating disorder is in its early stages, or symptoms are mild, we may recommend a different form of CBT, which is aimed at preventing symptoms from worsening.

We're also trained in other therapies such as the Maudsley Model of Anorexia Nervosa Treatment for Adults (MANTRA) programme and Cognitive Analytical Therapy.

Why have I been referred to the outpatient service?

You may be referred to community support with the Rharian Fields team for any of the below reasons:

  • Weight restoration: You may be showing signs of a low weight that a healthcare professional thinks could be due to an eating disorder. We’ll work alongside you to build a more flexible mindset around food and body image, with the aim of monitoring and helping to increase your weight.
  • Weight stabilisation: You may present with a normal body mass index (BMI), but are struggling with bingeing, purging, excessive exercise or other behaviours to influence your shape and weight. We’ll work with you to help you develop regular eating patterns, manage your emotions and reduce harmful behaviours.
  • Binge eating: It may be that you are experiencing binge eating disorder and struggling to maintain a healthy weight. We’ll focus on breaking binge cycles and tackling emotional eating.

Whatever your reason is for accessing the service, we’ll work with you to create a plan that supports your needs and goals.

Rharian Fields is part of the Royal College of Psychiatrists' Quality Network for Eating Disorders accreditation scheme and is rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission.

How can I access outpatient support with Rharian Fields?

Referrals into the Rharian Fields outpatient service can be made by any healthcare or social care professional, including your GP. If you think you could benefit from support, speak to your GP or healthcare professional, who can help refer you for an initial assessment.
